Used cooking oil,
refined into clean fuel.

Madafu Bio collects used cooking oil from kitchens across Kenya and supplies it to biorefineries, where it becomes biodiesel. Waste stays out of drains and landfills — and displaces fossil fuel instead.

What we do

One waste stream, three steps.

We handle the part that's hard for everyone else: getting oil out of thousands of small kitchens, keeping it clean, and delivering it at a volume and quality refineries can use.

1

Collect

We supply sealed containers to restaurants, hotels, food processors and institutional kitchens, and collect on a schedule that fits how fast you actually fill them.

2

Consolidate

Oil is filtered, tested and aggregated into refinery-grade batches, with every collection documented so the material stays fully traceable back to source.

3

Refine

Batches are supplied to biorefinery partners, who convert them into biodiesel — a drop-in fuel that replaces diesel refined from crude oil.

Why it matters

Used cooking oil is only waste until someone collects it.

Poured down a drain, it congeals and blocks sewer lines. Dumped on open ground, it contaminates soil and water. Resold informally, it re-enters the food chain. Collected properly, the exact same oil becomes one of the lowest-carbon liquid fuels available — because the carbon in it has already done a job before it's burned.

That's the whole idea behind Madafu Bio: no new land, no new crops, no competition with food production. Just a waste stream that already exists, routed somewhere better.

About us

A Kenyan company, built around one loop.

Madafu Bio is a Kenyan circular economy company. We exist because a valuable, low-carbon resource is being thrown away every day in kitchens across the country — and because the infrastructure to capture it doesn't really exist yet.

We're early, and we're building deliberately: strong relationships with the kitchens we collect from, clean documentation from day one, and a network that can scale without losing traceability. Environmental impact is the point, not the marketing.

Nothing new gets grown, drilled or shipped.
The carbon has already done its job once.
